Re: [A/S] Repair Books
Thomas,
You should get at least 2 books:
Livingston's "RV Maintenance and Repair" and Barre's "Managing 12 Volts".
The former covers most of the commonly-used appliances in some detail,
with diagrams, etc. Remember that nearly ALL RVs use either Dometic or
NorCold fridges, a couple of brands of furnace and water heaters, etc.
The latter is oriented towards both RVs and boats, with information on
solar panels, converters, etc.
Bill & Jan Moeller have a good book on RV electrical systems also, with
a lot of stuff that Barre doesn't cover, or more detail on some stuff
that he does touch on. You might want to add it to your library.
Having those 2 or 3 books will go a long way towards making you
independant of the repair shops, and more knowlegeable if/when you do
have to go to the 'pros'. Unless you're so rich that you can ALWAYS go
to the pros and are lucky enough to find honest ones, you (and everyone
else on this list) should have copies in their trailers.
