Hi Max,
I used .040 gage  6061 aluminum sheet for my 53 Flying Cloud. The color 
match was very close. You can order a small 12 x 12 piece from McMaster- 
Carr for about $7.40 plus shipping. Here's the web site for the 6061 aluminum:
