Charlotte,
As much work as it was, I removed the original tile flooring before I
installed new linoleum in my 67 Safari. The old tiles may be in good
shape now but they will loosen up over time. They also add unnecessary
weight. I think they are asbestos too! I really like the easy care of
linoleum. I bought the top of the line stuff so it doesn't tear and I
had a professional floor place install it. It's all  one piece so it
makes the interior look larger. Small pattern helped too.
