A few other factor that maybe we are forgetting in this discussion of...

Tow Vehicle + Trailer = BIG MONEY
                      vs.
Motorhome (alone) = LESS MONEY

We are not comparing apples and oranges here!

Consider these thoughts:

    - The Tow Vehicle has lots of use (and thus, extra value) for those times you are 
NOT using your Trailer

    - Most people I know who have Motorhomes, must TOW another vehicle along behind 
them! This MUST factor into both the Cost of Purchase and the rapid depreciation of 
value due to high mileage being put on the Tow vehicle (resale value)

    - Plus... Who wants to drive there WHOLE HOUSE to the store to get a quart of 
milk!

Give me an Airstream and a nice tow vehicle ANY DAY!
