[A/S] Re: Furnace

HI Chuck,
I didnt think to document this install. The new unit was an easy fit
inside the old "can". This "can" provides a metal surround of the
furnace, plus help to direct "return" air from a vent that is under
the front couch that runs back to the furnace. Why A/S didnt provide
a return duct from the rear of the coach I wish I knew... but it does
the job. I did a little "creative" shimming and exterior hole
alignment, but it was an easy replacement. The shimming was to get
the new unit( a smaller foot print) to sit in the old can so
that "most" of the original holes would line up with the
intake/exhaust of the new unit. Our original unit pushed hot air
straight out into the coach. The new unit afforded the capability to
run heat ducts, but I decided to "just get it in". I started about 9
am (after the day started to warm) and was inside running the new
unit by 3pm. It could have gone faster, but I wanted to take my
time.... didnt want to have to redo anything after dark, or cold, or
rain. It works so well that I probably will not change a thing. If
there is still interest by spring, I'll post a few photos.
Good luck.
