Hi, I have an EX. and replaced the old radio and 8 track with a new 
AM FM and CD. The main cabinet stays in place. The wood grain panel 
that holds the old system come out. (screws on the sides) You may as 
well take it out because it needs modifying to accept the new radio. 
I mounted the radio near the top and modifyed the lower cabinet with 
a self. VCR tapes on the bottom and CD's on the upper shelf. Worked 
out great. If you want a pic. let me know. Arnie
