[A/S] 61 Bambi, axle "WELDED" to the frame

Here is an interesting twist.  I have been told by several people on 
the list that duratorque axles were always bolted to the frame.  Our 
61 Bambi must be one of the first to convert to this axle or it must 
be an experimental.  The mounting plate is 8 1/2" wide by 6 1/2" 
deep, with a diagonal notch cut off at toward the rear of the 
trailer.  It is welded to the frame and it looks like a factory job 
to us.  Can any Bambi owners add any comments.  I'd still like to 
bolt on a new duratorque.  Eric and Linda Evans, Jaguar town.
