It's certainly not a bad idea.  But, depending on tow vehicle it may not be
necessary.  Fords have isolation circuits, Jim says my Dodge should also,
and, although I don't know, Chevys/GMCs may also.

One possible undesirable result of unplugging at night could be forgetting
to reconnect the umbilical cord in the morning before you drive away and
have no running lights, stop and turn signals, or trailer brakes.
