With respect to restoring stoves:

In the course of my work on restoration of a porcelain
enamel theatre marquee, I ran across this company that
does small runs of porcelain enamel, such as
re-coating of stove grates.  I do not know if
powdercoating can withstand high temps, but it's clear
that porcelain will.  As I recall, the cost of small
jobs is reasonable.
