Yes, porcelain definitely has good heat resistance. The powdercoat I used/am using on the burner grates is designed to handle extreme heats. I was told over 1000 degrees. They use it on BBQ grills, engine parts, etc. I should be picking them up this coming week. I'll let you know how it works. Barry
