A suggestion... you can get an adaptor for the drain and then the one you 
bought will fit....

Airstreams have a different style than the rest of the world, which is a pain.

I have the adaptor permanently house on the drain...... 

I think Valterra makes an adaptor.... you want to go from Thetford to 
Valterra....
