Go easy with the air shocks.

In most cases, they are NOT a good way to support the rear end, although
they are sold to do just that.  Shock absorbers are designed to dampen
oscillations, not support the vehicle, hence the shock absorber mounts on
the vehicle are not built (nor are they strong enough) to support a load
which should be carried by the springs.  [Unless the air shocks are part of
a factory designed and installed load leveling system. In this case, the
mounts are strong enough and the position of the load supporting shock is
vertical over the springs (not at an angle).]

If you need more support in the rear, consider heavier springs. If you have
leaf springs, a better alternative is an Air Lift air bag system as a helper
spring.  This can be inflated as needed to support the extra load. It goes
between the frame and the leaf spring directly over the rear axle.

With a weight equalizing hitch, you probably don't need any extra springing
in the rear since the hitch (properly adjusted)  transfers the hitch weight
forward, thereby placing the load on all four wheels  and will help maintain
a level tow vehicle.
