The feds have determined by actual tests, that placing
a portable heater closer than 36 inches from a
flammable material, is asking for a fire.
With the use of that kind of heating, instead of the
built in furnace, in recreational vehicles, is sort of
asking for it.
Placing a portable heater in an Airstream, and keeping
it more than 3 feet from a flammable material, would
usually be very difficult, or for that matter, most
any RV. 
Fruit for thought?????
