It sounds like you should be able to connect  single pole relay contacts in 
series with the fan motor. Power the coil of the relay with the electrical 
source for the compressor.  If you place a switch in the circuit to the coil 
of the relay, you would be able to have the fan run in either its normal mode 
or have it shut down when the compressor shuts down.
