I know some manufacturers do have options for a
"winter pack" for those who use their trailers in
colder climates.  A/S does manufacturer a specific
line of trailers that has an improved R factor over
the standard used on the balance of the product line. 
I remember our tour guide at Jackson Center this
summer stating that a specific line...maybe the
Limited, comes with a higher R factor insulation.

Our coldest trip out with the Safari was this fall in
Gattlinburg Tn.  It got down to the upper 20's a few
mornings.  My search for a digital thermostat is based
on that trip and the awful performance of the
mechnical thermostat (too wide a temperature swing)
and the inability to adjust it (no anticipator
adjustment).

Patty and I were talking about winter temperatures and
camping last night.  We pretty much agree that no
thermostat or trailer is as comfortable as a house
when it really gets cold.  We recollected a visit to
one of Patty's high school pals just after her friend
got married.  They bought a mobile home and we
remembered on the winter night of our visit, how the
cold came off the walls as soon as the furnace shut
down.  I think the bathroom was even worse.  You could
feel the cold radiating off the tub.

If you want to go out in cold weather in any travel
trailer you need to do a little work on the windows
and the roof vents as a minimum.
