Re: [A/S] Torq loc Vs AutoLoc
Hunter,
I just picked up my '02 F250 PSD this past Saturday.
Because of the past threads on exhaust brakes I had
decided to have one installed - as long as the dealer
would do it.
The dealer called the plant, and they were told that
it would void the warranty unless the dealer had their
own stock and did the installation, instead of sending
it out. Bottom line they would not do it.
They did have an alternative. They suggested a
computer chip developed by Western Diesel Systems that
does the same thing as the exhaust brake. It works
off the OEM, I think that's the block heater, and they
had had one installed in their wrecker.
I found their web site using google. The chip runs a
little underr $400. For the people who can use their
hands to manipulate objects, it is appearently easy to
install.
The dealer said that their wrecker is able to stop in
under 50'. I've had them order it for my F250.
