[A/S] Several questions about removing things and painting things

Hi,

I have a 67 Overlander International and would like to
do three things to it to make it more livable. And I
would like to get some help from you all who have
already do it before.

One is to take out the front sofa so that I can
replace the old carpet with new white linoleum and
then put in a nice futon-couch.

I found the Airstream Central article on sofas but
would like a more direct how-to from people who have
taken the front sofa out about the best way to do it.

And second, I plan to repaint the bathroom from its
present ugly green to a more standard white or cream
yellow. I plan on buying an oil enamel, but wonder if
the enamel will peel in the tub and also does a
repaint in the bathroom on that plastic look bad.

Maybe I should just leave it the way that it is. But
the green is pretty bad. Should I prime it, then paint
it or do you have already do it regret it. Do you
think it should just be left alone?

Finally, my otside door lock is getting bad. I read
all the posts about replacing the lock but I frankly
don't care abut keeping the lock original. Can't I
just take off the original Airstream lock, buy a
standard lock and have a locksmith put it on?

Thanks,

Terry
