Re: [A/S] leveling

Leveling any travel trailer or motorhome is determined
by the leveling of the refrigerator. Initially, a
small flat level can be placed in the freezer
compartment. Level the trailer or motorhome until the
"level" bubble is centered. Calibrate or adjust any
other fixed level, to match the one that you placed in
the freezer compartment. In the future then, you won't
need to bother with the freezer, just level from the
fixed level. The industry "out of level" is no more
than 1/2 bubble. However, the hotter the ambient
temperature, the more critical that becomes. Therefore
on a 100 degree plus day, an almost perfect level is
needed, for optimum cooling. Many cooling units are
needlessly "locked up", by not keeping them within
"level" tolerance. Traveling, will not in anyway, as
long as the refrigerator stays in some type of motion,
cause a lockup.
Use caution, however, when stopping for more than
about an hour, especially during the summer months.
Either find a level spot to park, or simply turn the
refrigerator thermostat to zero, so that heat source
for the cooling unit, cannot come on. Remember,
though, to turn the themostat back up, when you get
ready to resume your travels.
Thermostat settings are also governed by the ambient
temperature, that is to say, the hotter it is outside,
the higher the thermostat setting must be. In critical
situations, an additional cooling fan can be used on
the back side of the cooling unit, during high ambient
temperatures.
