I too have a 73 Ambassador. Mine is center bath, rear double.

The stabilizers are not for leveling, they aren't strong enough. You
need to get someting to drive the low side wheels onto. RV supply places
sell ramps, "leggos" and other stuff to do that, you can also use
boards. Put a bubble level in your freezer compartment and level to
that, since the fridge is the thing that gets tragic if not level when
running. I use the leggos (Staxx I think ). That does the side to side,
and your toungue jack can do front to back. Then you crank down the
stabilizers to steady it.
