I have a 31' limited that I tow with a GMC 2500HD Duramax/Allison
combination and standard 3.73 rear.  I cannot say enough good things
about this combination.  I got the long bed, extended cab combination
partially for the bigger (30 gal) fuel tank and full timing storage
area.  Scaled at 9200# on the truck and 7900# for the trailer last
October and overall length of 54'.  Parking and turning requires a
little planning and usually at least one backup due to the long wheel
base.

Worst mileage towing has been 14.34 MPG, non-tow mixed city and 75 MPH
highway has been just over 17 MPG.

Factory installed exhaust brake and in Tow/Haul mode eliminates braking
except on the steepest hills.  I just take my foot off the pedal and
coast down watching non-towing cars/trucks hit their brakes.
Approaching an exit, the transmission automatically downshifts as you
slow down and with a little practice, no braking is required until the
speed has dropped to around 30 MPH at the 25 MPH turn.  The engine and
transmission computers working together make for effortless traveling.  

100,000 mile drive train warranty, quietest diesel on the road, and I am
completely pleased.  Almost twice the power at almost twice the fuel
mileage of my 454 Suburban.  Pulling the Airstream south for the winter
the speed only dropped to 54 MPH on the Grapevine approaching Los
Angeles.  Only braking on the downhill side was when an idiot would cut
in front and apply his/her brakes.

I have a Reese Dual Cam sway control weight distribution hitch and it
was worked perfectly.  Factory tow package provides a hitch receiver,
the correct RV trailer wired connector, and a harness for the brake
controller that just plugs in under the dash.
