No problem..... if mine went south I would probably do the same thing.

The *only* time you ever need to run the fridge on gas is at rallies which 
have "limited electric"

I never run mine on gas when I'm traveling, I just shut the door so all 
electric would work for me.

Plenty of people have switched in their RV.
