Texas is not taxing at the state level.  But it has permitted the local
jurisdictions to levy taxes on trailers, but not motorhomes.  They are
being treated as housing and can be taxed the same as a house.

The bright side is that the money paid can be a deduction on income
taxes whereas a high registration fee cannot.
