   Go for it! It's your baby. Dress it how you want to. I have a '53 Cruiser 
that I'm doing a frame off restoration to "mostly" original. However , I 
recently aquired a '62 Safari with a pretty cosmeticly trashed interior. I'm 
not restoring the '62 . I want to go camping this next year in an A/S ,not my 
SOB , so the '62 Is getting the quick custom paint and fix up, and the 
purists will cringe.  AHH..hahahahah....
