Re: [A/S] I'm new and know nothing

Kohlee and other listees,

You have made a good choice. You have joined a group of Airstream enthusiasts
that know how to have a good time, with good folks and good equipment. Although
some folks don't think we are friendly, I don't personally see that aspect at
all. There's a ton camaraderie that goes with the ownership.

>We have always thought that they are sooo cool looking.
They are cool looking and they catch a lot of attention along the way. I think
that is why so many Airstream owners take pride in the upkeep and condition of
their rigs.

>The interior is all original. We need to get new foam and all the interior
stuff. The oven is said not to work but I haven't had the nerve to let my
husband try it yet. All the lights work and they all have their covers. So
that is about all we know.

There's al lot to learn. There's as much info on this list and other lists to
keep your interest for a long time. There's a ton of knowledge on this list
too. Another list that deals with vintage-type Airstreams in particular can be
accessed at: http://www.airstream.net/ and/or
http://airstream.net/vaclist/listoffice.html

>Also, the numbers on the front of my airstream have been changed, are those
numbers some sort of membership number for the Wally B. Club?

The Wally Byam Caravan Club International is the club of Airstream owners. The
numbers are assigned to you by the WBCCI at Jackson Center, OH. You can check
out the website at: http://www.wbcci.org/ click on the "Regions button". It
will show a map of the USA and then you can click on the area which are located
in. From there you can find the Region, the Unit you might want to belong to.
This is a great club; they have been just awesome to us. We have been Airstream
owners for 10+ years, in the WBCCI since '95 and are very active in it now.
We've met a ton of great people and look forward to meeting more.

>I haven't joined yet but assume that it is a necessity, right?

It isn't a necessity that you join, but you get so much from being a member, it
is really a no-brainer. IMHO

>Sorry that is a lot to begin with but I have been dying to know but have been
nervous to ask because they are such beginner questions.

No one joined this list and knew everything; everyone was a newbe at one time or
another, and there are very few stupid questions. Don't be afraid to ask
anything.

One thing we do on this list is that we always ask the list and we answer to the
list. We do this so we all know and learn from one another. If you see
something your are not interested in....that's why they make a delete key.

If you have some questions about the WBCCI that you didn't get answered, write
to me off list. Just click on me at: richwalbridge@airstream.net

Good Luck!! Welcome!!
