[A/S] Aluminum Fever Attack

Dateline:  Ringwood, NJ (and environs) 1st December 2001

The National Centers for Disease Control, the New Jersey Department of
Mental Health, and the local Dog Warden are investigating an outbreak of
an apparent bio-terrorist attack of the dread Virus Aluminus Airstreamum
that occurred earlier today in this quiet North Jersey community.
Ringwood, formerly known only for the most confiscatory tax rate on the
planet, is facing hoards of electronic media "talking heads" once the
news leaks out, according to borough officials.

This outbreak manifested itself as Pamela Worner, a thirty year resident
of the borough, was traveling towards an area kennel to board her two
dogs, preparatory to a flight to her native Oxford, England, later in
the day.  Spotting a 1974 Argosy 24 for sale along the road, she
immediately abandoned all ideas of fiduciary solvency, and called her
husband Matthew, a 55 year resident of Ringwood, to come to her rescue.
With money.  Matt, (aka "Batty Matty") generally credited with being the
crazier of the pair, responded to the scene, post haste.  Upon realizing
that the Argosy was one of the desirable rear door models, reacted with
a calm and reasoned, "YESSSSS!!!" and promptly broke into a fevered
sweat.  "Quick, write the man a cheque," he was heard to mutter,
senselessly.

Victims of the outbreak have so far been limited to the Worners, who
have been voluntarily quarantined by their astounded children.  "We knew
Mum and Dad were a little (okay then, a lot) weird, but never figured
them to be addicted like this.  Of course they've always claimed that
their addiction was really an illness, but we know better.  We always
thought that one Airstream would keep them under control, but now this.
I guess we'll just have to face the prospect of their living fifteen
years longer than the national average.  Or is it fifteen years per
Airstream.  Frightening thought."
