RE: Re: [A/S] Cell phone internet hookups
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for the heads up, Hunter - there are so many little catches to check
and watch out for with these phone plans.
The 'Regional' plans usually require you to make at least 50% of your calls
from your home base.
We asked that question when we bought the plan. Our National Plan (one of
many, many) does not require a certain % of calls from a home area. We
also dbl checked the "roaming" aspect - there are no roaming fees with our
plan. We can call anywhere in U.S. and can receive calls from any where
without extra charges. The two items we have to watch for are:
1) the 150 monthly minutes during M-F and 3000 minutes Sat, Sun.
2) we could get tripped up on the minutes because when calling out of our
area it could be an extra month or two before the time appears on our bill,
thus, if we used our minutes right up to the the limit say in November
some additional minutes might show up from a September call made elsewhere
causing us to go over ...
Everyone needs to be careful about comparing their plan with someone else's
plan - it all depends on 'where' you buy your plan. Ask a lot of questions,
do not assume. One person can buy their Verizon National plan in Yuma, AZ
and hear about different guidelines from someone who buys in Phoenix, AZ.
The plan we bought in Yuma was not offered in Phoenix. A guy working at a
Verizon store in Phoenix said he's lucky in an 8 hour day if he talks with
any two people who have the same plan.
