Hi, I've never or have I ever heard that anyone had trouble getting 
an alum tank filled. They can be bought new and most of industry, 
such as fork lifts, etc use alum. tanks. I think you just caught the 
guy in an off day. We pay $12.60 with tax to get a 30lb. tank 
refilled. But the guy who fills my 40lb tanks has a chart on the wall 
listing the refill price for the differant tanks he services. But I 
am the only guy around with 40's and rather than do 
any "figuring" ,he just charges me for 30's. Nice guy.
