[A/S] Advice wanted on 1993 Ford

Tom and I were talking to a computer store employee and in a very roundabout
way found out he is selling a 1993 Ford F350, Dually Crew Cab, manual trans.
Diesel truck for $1300. It has 130K miles. Diesel fumes may me sick -
literally, but I guess you don't smell them in the cab - it's just the people
around that smell them. I have wondered about the fumes getting into a
trailer unless it was shut up really tight while underway.

The seller purchased the truck in Texas where it was used to tow a 6-horse
trailer part of the time so apparently it has plenty of towing power for our
19" Bambi.

The funny thing is he told us that he was selling a truck for double blue
book price. It's hard to believe it would have a blue book value of only
$700. (it's advertised for $1400). The seller lives in San Francisco and
just can't take the parking problems with the truck anymore.

We're certainly not out looking for anoher tow vehicle but when something
like this just happens to fall our way ... one of us always says "The fates
must mean for us to have it...."

Sooo - any thoughts on whether this is a deal too good to pass up (assuming
it checks out ok) or would we just be blowing $1300? One thought came to my
mind - we might have to spend a bundle for new tires - I forgot to ask about
them.

Thanks,
Norma
