[A/S] TV connections

I just returned from six months in Omaha, NE where I was adjusting 
hail claims and was not able to look in on the list here. I now have 
some time to spend on important things like maintenance of the 
Excella. A few months ago we had a discussion about TV connections
and someone mentioned a little re-wiring arrangent that went
something like - Install a separate co-ax jack in the jack plate on 
the wall and connect the antenna co-ax to it, connect only the cable 
from the exterior jack to the original jack in the jack plate. This 
allows connection of dish or RV park cable to the exterior jack and 
antenna connection as well. I am not entirely clear about all the 
details, so whoever has used this setup or proposed it, could you 
explain it again. It seems like a very good plan that I would like do.
