Re: [A/S] New Hensley Hitch
Don,
When I installed my Hensley, I drove down to the local Home Depot
parking lot because they say a level spot is best, and I started the
process with the manual and tools. All went along just as the manual
said until it came time to attach the spring jacks to the frame
brackets. This is done with a set screw through a ring keeper. The
set screw goes into a hole in the frame bracket shaft. On one side,
the hole was drilled in the wrong place and did not mate with the set
screw placement once the jack and ring were in place. I got a little
hot and said some bad words, thinking that QC should be a little
better for the kind of money I was spending for this !@#$%^&* hitch.
In a few minutes I figured out a work-around and called Hensley the
next morning. They apologized appropriateley, quickly sent a new
correctly drilled bracket, and said this event necessitated an
inspection of their complete inventory of these brackets for a
similar error. It might be a good idea to install it in a spot that
you can leave it for a day or two in case you don't complete the
instalation in one sitting. I love the hitch.
