Hey bobb I knew someone on here would've done it! Oh my word - sounds 
like a ton of work to drop that receiver. And then I am not sure it 
sounds safe anyway. Especially with my big trailer. Hmmm I can see a 
market for them though if a company would make then. Let's of BIG 
aand tall vehicles running around now. Suburbans, Expeditions etc. 
And of course my love - the F250. Bye, Kathy :)
 A better solution, might not look to good, and it's heavy, would be 
to use a solid block of steel as a bushing and lower the hitch 
receiver that way,  this maintains almost all of the strength of the 
original design, > I'm not an engineer, just a backyard mechanic that 
has done this to clear a spare tire mounted under a truck. I also 
didn't even approach the load limit of the hitch I was using.
