Hi Patti
I have the coleman one that Wal mart has. It does stay cool once it gets 
cold. I used it a lot last year on a trip from san Diego to Lake Powell. We 
took the scenic route and kept things mayonaise,eggs and such in it. AT night 
we pluged in the ac adapter in the hotel room and it worked well. Just 
remeber that like the Fridge in the trailer or one at home it takes a while 
to cool down to a safe temp for food.
