Hi Tom,

After thinking about the noise, I better qualify what I heard. With a 
strong wind gust, I would hear a groaning sound. However, after 
thinking about it, when I pulled into a rest stop at Snowshoe, PA, I 
saw the the rear window of my truck cap had opened between Dubois and 
there. That always happens at interstate speeds when I forget to lock 
the cap window while towing. The sound could have been the wind on 
the flapping cap window. I kept thinking it was the hitch; it may not 
have been. I can't test the theory until next spring as this morning 
I just stored the unit indoors for the winter. However, noise or not, 
the hitch worked great.
