I strongly second your #5.
    We sprung for the type that wedges between the tires on the top and 
bottom. They lock in place by pulling the lever down. Made from cast aluminum 
there is a loop to insert a lock to keep them from walking away. I can kick 
myself for not investing in these before now, after years of standard wedges 
working themselves loose, and trying to jam them in between the tires and the 
leveling blocks.
They aren't cheep but worth every cent.
