Pearl,
 Your dealer gave "almost" good advice on running that genset. I'd add:

1. Run the unit monthly, for at least an hour, and under half load. A
typical electric heater would work well for the EU3000. It takes much
longer than 10 minutes to get the unit fully warm, and with no load, the
generator won't warm up at all. Warmth drives out any moisture.
2. Use Sta-Bil or equivilant in the fuel, and try to 'turn' it every 6
months, even with that in the tank.
3. Change oil annually, even if you don't have "enough" hours on it.
4. Keep a log so you don't forget when you ran it last. If you neglect
to PM it, it may well not run when you need it.
