I don't know much about auto finishes but I do use industrial coatings for 
cabinetry. These finishes use a catalyst for curing and hold up to lacquer 
thinner, mineral spirits, gasoline. fingernail polish, and almost anything 
you can throw at it, except............
ammonia. What ever  the chemical make up of ammonia is it cuts through the 
"super finishes."
