     There *has* to be a way to access the water pump without hacking 
up the trailer, if only to replace the pump if/when it goes bad.  
Someone said that there was a panel that screwed on; have you checked 
for that?  In any event, you should be able to bypass the heater 
tank, then enter the water system through the fresh-water inlet; may 
require some ingenuity.
