Sam,
While I haven't gone through this exercise yet with
the A/S, I did do a couple of things additional things
when winterizing a trailer.  One is I usally take my
shop vac and reverse the air flow.  I put the hose in
the every drain, which blows out the water in the
traps.  I then pour some antifreeze into each blown
out drain.  I've done this with every trailer I have
ever owned and never had a problem in this area.

As far at the pump goes, I usually put in a gallon of
antifreeze into the fresh water tank.  After I blow
out the lines I turn on the pump and open each water
valve.  
Once I see good color, I know its done.  As much as
you blow out the lines there can still be water drops
which can move back to a low point in a line and
freeze. 

The model toilet you and I have in our Safari's also
has a small water container that stores a small amount
of water in it.  I think its to provide some residual
amount of water to get into the bowl, once you have
released the flushing system.  I don't know how well
this container drains when blowing out the lines.  The
antifreeze in the fresh water tank makes sure that
this  is taken care of.

While having to flush out the fresh water tank in the
spring is a pain, doing it the way I do gives me
complete confidence that there is no water in the
system.
