Jack,

    I know from following the list that you missed the "buy a new Airstream 
and get 1 year WBCCI membership for free" by only a short time. Very 
disappointing in my view. When a group wants to bolster it's membership and 
at the same time only includes owners of a certain brand. (in this case) 
Making it inviting to everyone with that certain brand is a must. Buddy 
Rallys are a start, giving free membership to owners of a new Airstream 
helps. I do think that the new policy stopped short of possibly making a real 
difference. I feel that free membership should be offered to all first time 
members. Building a data base to reference these applications would take time 
but it is not an impossible task. This past weekend there was at least 2 new 
members with old Airstreams. What made them want to join. I bought mine from 
a non member and going thru the old owners manual I found paper work from the 
original owners membership. For me it was curiosity and the spare $60. For 
the next guy an unknown may not be worth the $60. If given a years membership 
entices them to attend a couple of rallys it may be enough to hook them. We 
have been camping for decades and some of the nicest places we have camped 
were at rally locations.
