Re: [A/S] Fall 2001 travels-CoPilot vs. DeLorme
Jerry and all,
The CoPilot is very friendly in the use of the key board for moving about the
page while underway, whereas the DeLorme products require you to use the icons
which become very small and difficult to maneuver while underway. You don't
need a mouse with the CoPilot.
When you begin a trip just plug in the address and title your trip, select it
and begin. If you decide to alter your route, it will correct for it to ensure
you get there using the route you've selected. The audio is superior as well.
All the via and stop selections in the DeLorme disappear, (which I thought was
very cumbersome).
I think the DeLorme is good for planning, the CoPilot far and away is simpler to
use underway with a GPS. Lots of business types use it to find their way
around. Florists to find businesses like reception halls, funeral homes, etc.
Camping World had it for $359 less 10% for President's Club and then
additionally 10% off for a sale and then $1 shipping. The retail is about $399.
It is substantially more expensive than the DeLorme system.
It is a matter of opinion of course.
Good Luck!
