Pearl,
Absolutely do not run the generator in the van. This is clearly 
unsafe.  Mount a generator outside or move it before use.

I have been using an EU3000is for a year now and I'm very happy with 
it.  It's mounted on the tongue of my Bambi, and has a remote electric 
start to startup from inside the A/S.  It starts and runs my Dometic 
11000 btu without problems.

"EU3000" and you'll find many comments on the experiences with this 
unit.
