Same here, I've thought about it some more, and wondered if it might not 
just be the tranny gears rolling around and getting up to speed.  This 
would seem to indicate to me that I'm not meant to use the engine for 
downshift breaking (requiring me to shift while slowing down.

Other than the sound, everything seemed to work just fine in the truck. 
 I only asked the question because not everyone uses the engine to slow 
down with.  I've always done this, but maybe I'm not supposed to.  There 
might be other reasons like no load on the drivetrain, as in towing a 
trailer for instance.

I've already gone there and asked the same question. That's why I posted 
to Airstream, figuring that someone would have run into it considering 
all the talk here about the PSD for towing.
