Re: [A/S] axle upgrade

At the Tunbridge, VT Airstream rally this last weekend, I had my rig weighed
by John Anderson of A'weigh we go. [now known as the RV Safety Education
Foundation. RVSEF].
It was a very useful thing to do.
As a result I am interested in upgrading my 97 Safari to the load carrying
capacity of the newer Safaris.
Airstream says the only difference between 1997 and 2001 are the axles. The
wheels are also 15" instead of the 14" I now have.
The young man I talked with at Airstream was not able to give me any useful
prices, and MARTY'S RV in Massachusetts told me they would not do it. No
discussion possible.
has anyone upgraded the capacity of a "modern" safari, who did it, and how
much should it cost?
