Sounds like what you have is the weight distribution tension bars but not
the actual hitch that goes into the receiver on your tow vehicle. This is
where the trailer ball and round ends of the weight distribution tension
bars go. The end of the tension bars with the chains attached to the
trailer. Since the hitch itself is probably the most expensive part and you
would probably need a sway bar as well, you may be just as well off going
with a new complete unit such as the Equal-i-zer hitch that Charlie Burke
has posted about. I am leaning in that direction myself. Keep us posted.
