[A/S] Re: Interior Paint

Peg,
I also agree that an alklyd (oil) finish is very, very durable. High
quality oil base paint comes in flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss and
high-gloss. I would stick with a satin or eggshell finish. If I were
painting the interior of my trailer, I would certainly prime first.
However, my choice for priming is without a doubt B-I-N by Zinsser.
(Fairly easy clean-up with ammonia) It adheres to everything,
including ceramic tile and laminate, and drys quickly. It
may be tinted to the color of your choice and is sold everywhere,
Home Depot and maybe Wally World, though I am not sure. It is a
shellac base primer sealer and does have a strong odor. You may use
it whether your present finish is latex or oil.
Mary A...
P.S. You may use oil over latex but not latex over oil. Why not
faux finish it? Good luck!
