My fear is that someone might steal it.

We had an experience at Pirateland Campground in
Myrtle Beach years ago where we had some thievery done
to our Hi-Lo trailer.  A rag tag unit pulled into the
site next to us and apparently was the first trailer
and trip for two couples and a bunch of kids.  We
noticed that they didn't have some of the things you
normally carry and the trailer itself was missing some
components.  All we were wondering if this trailer was
even road worthy.

As they were packing up to leave a few days later, we
left our trailer to head into town.  Upon return we
found that our wheel chocks were missing (these were
aluminum airplane blocks that my brother who flies got
for me), our bumper end caps were gone, and one other
item that I forget at this point was also taken. 
Bottom line these were all items they didn't have on
their trailer.

So I really would have to come up with some good
security before I would use one of these external
protectors.
