Thanks for this information.  My van is a 1999 GMC.  It pulls the 23 foot 
1999 Safari very well; however, I have only been towing in the midwest and 
southeast.  I have never had a problem towing but I am concerned about the 
mountains out west.  I know that at some future date we will probably go to a 
25 or 26 foot Excella and then I will need more engine and more vehicle.  The 
van is rated at 5500 lbs.  The AS is 4700 lbs empty and my wife probably can 
manage to make it around 5700 lbs by the time she has everything in it.  

Your comments were my feelings exactly.  I think that Dodge is really pushing 
towing capacity on the 318.
