Trow, I can confidently tell you that it's a lot of work. I'm replacing two
of the bulkheads in my ' 68 Tradewind that delaminated from water leaks and
having a hard time matching the new wood color to the old. That isn't your
plan I realize but Susan refinished all the cabinet doors by sanding off the
old finish and applying a new finish to get a uniform look. You may be able
to bleach the dark wood to make it light (which I would try before replacing
anything or trying to laminate something on top of what's there). I'm no
wood worker so I don't know how to go about bleaching but somebody on the
list probably does. I've gotten some good suggestions about how to do what I
have in mind for our trailer.
