I guess two A/C's are an option. Also a higher BTU unit might be
another. I'm not sure if there is a size above 13,500. I'll be
really interested to see how A/S handles this issue with me.
I'm pretty sure that humidity slows down the cooling process. For
example if we are out of town for a good deal of time in the summer
the house becomes warm and humid. When we turn on the central air we
will notice that the temperature will remain high in the house, but
the humidity as shown on the humidistat will slowly decrease. Once
the humidity drops to a certain level, the inside temperature will
also start dropping. The higher the humidity in the house, the
longer it takes for the temperature drop to begin.
Apparently the energy spent condensing the water on the inside
evaporator coils insulates some of the ability to transfer the heat
in the air to the freon in the system. I'm sure there is an A/C
expert who can better explain the principal but less humidity in the
A/S will improve the ability to drop the inside air temp.
