Your comment reminds me of a poem my dad always carried called "It is 
all in the state of the mind." 

My concern is I'm comfortable dealing with actual wood repairs. The 
vinyl over what I thought was particle board concerned me, especially 
since I've seen more then my share of knock down particle board 
furniture that is just about impossible to repair.

Learning the Safari components are actually plywood gives me a lot 
better feeling.
